Search for What Is True

The Bereans listened with eagerness and examined what they heard. Their openness did not require gullibility. Their discernment did not harden into suspicion. They welcomed the message, then carried it to Scripture.

That posture is deeply useful today. We hear teaching, advice, news, and personal opinions from voices that can sound certain. Discernment asks what is true, what is interpretation, and what evidence supports the claim. For matters of faith, Scripture remains the measuring line, read in context and with humility.

Testing a message also requires us to examine our own preference. We tend to question ideas we dislike and accept ideas that confirm what we already believe. Truth deserves a fair hearing even when it unsettles us. A teachable heart is willing to be corrected.

Receive what you hear with attention. Search carefully. Pray for wisdom. Hold what proves good, and release what cannot carry the weight of truth. God is not threatened by honest examination.
